April 18, 2015 - The International Exhibition & Conference on Higher Education in Riyadh, KSA was a success.
Canada was well represented at the IECHE with more than a dozen universities and colleges. Lots of students were interested to pursue their education at a Canadian University, especially for graduate programs.
I also met some wonderful people at the various booths representing Brock U, Laurentian U, Niagara College etc. and we exchanged ideas on the ESL world and the future plans of universities in accommodating international students.
All four days were busy due to the great number of visitors.
TESOL 2015 was held at the Metro Toronto Convention Center
"As the largest organization focused exclusively on English language teaching for speakers of other languages, TESOL annually hosts more than 6,500 people from across the United States and around the world at the international convention. Educators at all levels attend to find a productive exchange of ideas and information and to feel the embrace of a dynamic professional community. International ideas and innovations intersect with Canadian culture in Toronto, one of the world’s most cosmopolitan cities. Speaking 140 different languages, more than half of Toronto’s residents were born outside of Canada. The ongoing fusion of cultures continues to enrich Toronto, which local actress Lisa Ray calls, “the most successful social experiment in the world."" - http://www.tesol.org/convention2015 |
Conclusion of a successful Professional Development week, March 2015
The PD week concluded with the annual AWARD GIVING CEREMONY. Teachers received certificates from the English Language Skills Department of the Preparatory Year. Dr. Nami Al Johani, Dean of the Preparatory Year handed out the certificates to teacher who went the extra mile in helping the various departments on campus. I was a presenter for that week. The topic was: "Apps In The Classroom".

Highlights of a good vacation
Highlights of a good vacation
Back home in the NIAGARA REGION, and wasted no time.
I decided to visit the St Catharines Museum and Welland Canal Lock with family
Nothing better than back to a familiar place and the fresh cool breeze of an early summer morning.
